DKP Raid System

DKP Raid System
Has anyone given any though to what type of Raid system, if any, we should use? Compared to the leveling speed now, and the fact that we get a work week ahead of most people, I am planning on being able to start raiding fairly soon. I've had some experience with DKP and it tends to be fair and promote participation within the guild.

Put it to a vote, make a poll... it doesn't matter to me, I prefer DKP but will go with the majority.

DKP is a great fair system rewarding people who contribute and are active within the guild during raid times. The only issue I could see (that we had in WoW) was having more guild members online than the raid instance could take (we had a semi-fix for those who showed up ready to raid but were unable to go with the main group, we gave DKP for attendance however they were not able to score any DKP for downing bosses because they didnt help, but we felt it was only fair to give them some points for showing up and being ready).
We used DKP in vanilla for our 40-mans, however during our current raids in Cataclysm we no longer use a DKP or any DKP type system. There is just a loot council of a few selected members who gear up players based on who they feel needs the gear the most, which has worked great. (The only issue with this could be a 'corrupted' loot council where the people choosing who gets the gear tend to favour certain people over others, which my current guild doesn't have a problem with everything is compeltely fair.)
That is my two cents on the matter.

We do not plan on using DKP until 50+ raids and instances. Right now we do most instances guild only and you need what you need and greed all else so it
doesn't rot if passed.
The DKP system we plan to use is custom with a more relaxed system, however without actually using it we do not know how effective it will be. We will give it a try and if it seems to be unfair or problematic we will look for an alternative.
